It’s that time of year again: pumpkin carving!

You know October’s in town when…

Pumpkin Carving

it’s time for a… PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST!

PumpkinThe stakes were set high , points were up for grabs for the very holy House Cup.

SeedsWhat is the House Cup? Think about it in Harry Potter-terms, each house in residence can earn points throughout the year by attending and participating in events and other contests. The house with the most points by the end of the year will be awarded the holy House Cup and win eternal glory (besides getting your house immortalized by being engraved on the plaque of honor)! As you can see,….THIS IS A BIG DEAL.

In the Process

The challenge of this Pumpkin Carving contest was to include the following:

  • have a harvest theme (inclusive of all other october/harvest celebrations)
  • creativity/uniqueness
  • incorporation of a mystery item

You can be the judge and see some of the amazing creations made by residents:

Al the pumpkin who is apparently part of the Avengers.

I must say…everybody did an awesome job. It’s interesting to see how people can bond over pumpkins, knives, and zombies. And, as first-time-ever-pumpkin-carver…it is really a lot harder than it looks! Anyways, warm wishes to the harvest-y month of October!
